
The Power of Positive Thoughts and Words
Fear and anxiety look for a place to breed and grow, and our minds, thoughts, and words are such a fertile ground for the negatives of life. Those negatives are itching to silence the power of positive thoughts and words.
I know for myself, it seems that when I’m driving, or walking, and especially when I’m lying in bed trying to go to sleep my mind can get going down the wrong path.
Lately there has been an angst that I’ve had to fight. Something of a foreboding sense of dread. Have you ever had that sense or thought that something bad is around the corner?
If you are like me there really isn’t any reason at all for it!
Life is good! My family is good! My job is good!
Could life be different, or better in a sense?
Always! But that is dependent upon definitions of what is better or different, and at the moment I’m what I like to call ‘contentedly agitated’. That just basically means I’m content and happy, but also agitated to do better, create more, and increase my life’s ability. I like being in that place of content, but always looking ahead.
But again for some reason there seems to be a voice in the back of our heads that wants us to fear what’s around the next corner, or next week, or the next month. I know I’m not alone in that voice being there.
There is only one way to muzzle that voice and eventually silence it.
Think thoughts of good. Thoughts of joy. Thoughts of the blessings of life that you have right now.
You may not have the greatest of life as you think, but there are so many more people in this world who are worse off. Even if that isn’t enough to move your thoughts, the thought that you do have life ought to excite you! The thought that you have this day to change your life, and change it for the better.
Thoughts are good but not good enough to silence that voice of dread.
Words are needed.
It’s impossible to think one thought while you say something. You ought to try it sometime. Think of one thing and then say something else. Whatever thought you had before will vanish away, and your thoughts will be drawn towards the words that are coming out of your mouth.
Speak words of good! Words of Joy! Words of the Blessings of life that you have right now right where you are!
If you are reading this you either have a computer or a smartphone. Be thankful for that and focus on all the blessings that you have in your life.
Thoughts and words are the only way to silence that voice!
When you use those two powerful weapons I promise you this: that voice will begin to become mute, and the dread that voice wants to bring will be silenced!
